Our story
Meet Ashley Scott
Ashley Scott is a veteran educator who has traveled to nearly 50 countries with over 500 students and hundreds of families. He launched international travel programs at three Georgia schools and founded Abiri Tours to create affordable, transformative travel experiences for Black and Brown families and working-class travelers.
He volunteers in Guatemala each summer, teaching English while learning Spanish, and is dedicated to conscious travel. Every itinerary is personally designed, every partner vetted, and every traveler welcomed like family.
The name "Abiri" comes from the Swahili word meaning "to cross or to travel" — the story behind founding the company: breaking the price barriers that keep too many people of color from seeing the world, one crossing at a time.
Ashley has two sons, Dj (31) and Amir (24), and lives in Atlanta.
